CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICER'S WELCOME

ACAD Schools commenced teaching activities on May 4, 1999; precisely the second term of 1998/1999 academic session with two pupils each in the Pre-school and Primary school. The school has continued to grow since then and today we have pupils/children in all the classes from Creche to Senior Secondary School. Her first social event was on 27 May, 1999 in celebration of children’s day.

HISTORY

The ACAD SCHOOLS GROUP started with the operation of the nursery and primary arm of the school (ACAD KNOWLEDGE LAND) in 1999 with ten pupils, three teachers and two classrooms. Over the years, the population of the school had grown to more than a hundred pupils in the nursery and primary departments and to more than two hundred and fifty students in the junior and senior departments of the college..

STAFF STRENGTH

We have a total of thirty-eight academic staff and fifteen non-academic staff that are visionary, dedicated to continuously improve on the schools’ standard, industrious, and of high moral standards. This comprises twenty First Degree graduates, fifteen HND/NCE graduates, ten ND graduates, trained artisans and others.

PUPILS/ STUDENTS’ DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Our pupils/students are enrolled for development programs at the beginning of every new session to enhance their academic, spiritual and moral standards throughout the session. These development programs include: Mathematical modules 1-5: to enhance their mathematical skills. Sports arena 101: for proper fitness throughout the session; amongst others.

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

It is the policy of the school to organize seminars and workshops for all pupils/students of the INSTITUTION three times in a session: First term, second term and third term

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

It is also the policy of the school to go on Excursion, Field Trips, Exhibitions, Talent Hunt Shows, Dancing competitions amongst others. We also have extra-moral classes and summer coaching for all categories of students

Future Plans for the School

  • To foster through the school the spirit of Christian fulfillment and happiness thereby encouraging the children to grow in the knowledge and service of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • To be our parents’ training partner; promote and strengthen bonds between home and school believing that the child’s development is achieved corporately by both parties.
  • By offering a programme for the physically challenged children while integrating them into the mainstream school.
  • To prepare the child for his future through the interrogation of ICT in all learning experience and develop an awareness of the world around.
  • To treat with trust, respect and encourage them to work out their own relationships. To appreciate their environment by taking care and learning to respect their natural world.
